Math Teacher
Essential Functions
- Agreement and commitment to the academic goals and philosophy of the school
- Understand and implement the policies, directives and guidelines set forth by the school
- Responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the class and the safety and welfare of the students during on-site and off-site activities
- Keep accurate records on each student, such as: gradebook and progress reports, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records
- Develop a nurturing and caring rapport with students
- Teach core content area following the Apex curriculum
- Implement the Instructional Framework with fidelity
- Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which is conducive to student learning
- Utilize data and assessments as a means to drive instruction
- Maintains confidentiality concerning all student information and professional matters
- Work with staff to improve student learning and achievement
- Use advanced classroom management techniques
- Collaborate with colleagues demonstrating a model of connected educators and develop positive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Adapt and enrich curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools in imaginative and enriching ways to actively engage students in their learning
- Ensure an orderly, motivational, and aspirational culture and a strong school community where teaching, learning, and healthy relationships can thrive
- Maintain good order and discipline among students
- Organize and manage groups or individual students ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Ohio Teaching license: Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) in the teaching field of Integrated Mathematics
- Highly Qualified Teaching (HQT) status in teaching assignment
- Demonstrate a passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for building a strong, mission-driven organization
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in the use of technology
- Experience with personalized student advising and motivation skills
Intervention Specialist
Essential Functions
- Agreement with and commitment to the academic goals and philosophy of the company.
- Understand, abide by, and implement the policies, directives, and guidelines set forth by the school.
- Prepare instructional plans aligned to applicable state standards.
- Implement the Instructional Framework with fidelity.
- Teach all subjects following the school's course of study or as assigned.
- Lead the Response to Intervention process.
- Effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators to facilitate the IEP process.
- Remain current on rules and regulations set forth in special education.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of student records.
- Accurately and efficiently maintain IEPs and student files.
- Responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the students and the safety and welfare of the students.
- Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which is conducive to student learning.
- Keep accurate records on each student such as: grade books and report cards, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records.
- Utilize data and assessment as a means to drive instruction.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters.
- Collaborate with staff to improve student learning and achievement in the regular education classrooms.
- Use advanced classroom management techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues demonstrating a model of connected educators and develop positive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Maintain status of Highly Qualified Teacher per federal definition.
- Use computers and other technology provided by the school to assist and support students in their learning.
- Adapt and enrich the curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools in imaginative and enriching ways to actively engage students in their learning.
- Develop classroom experiences that teach students, not only facts, but how to apply what they learn to solve real world problems.
- Provide ample opportunities to all students to develop in activities outside the classroom such as students organizations, physical activities, and service learning.
- Willingness to create and manage extracurricular activities for the student population.
- Ensure high standards of achievement for all students.
- Ensure an orderly, motivational, and aspirational culture, and a strong school community where teaching, learning, and healthy relationships can thrive.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
- Maintain good order and discipline among the students, safeguarding their health and safety.
- Organize and manage groups or individual students ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities.
- Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record keeping, and reporting of student's progress.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ensure effective use of support staff within the classroom, including parent helpers.
- Participate in all meetings as required.
- Be part of a whole school team, actively involved in decision-making on the preparation and development of policies and programs of study, teaching materials, resources, methods of teaching, and pastoral arrangements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Possess a current and valid Ohio Teaching License in Special Education K-12 in Mild/Moderate
- Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status
