POLICIES FOR INCORPORATING MITIGATION STRATEGIES
UNIVERSAL AND CORRECT WEARING OF MASKS

Lake Erie International High School will encourage 3 ft. social distancing where possible. Plexiglass will be in place between each student's work station. ∙
HANDWASHING AND RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE
Lake Erie International High School will post signage throughout the building illustrating proper handwashing etiquette.
CLEANING AND MAINTAINING HEALTHY FACILITIES, INCLUDING IMPROVING VENTILATION
Lake Erie International High School has incorporated new cleaning procedures including misting of classrooms, frequent disinfection of highly-touch surfaces, and the availability of hand sanitizer, including sanitizer stations in the lobby and cafeteria room. Lake Erie has two “Fresh Air” HVAC units that allow for clean air to pass through each classroom.
CONTRACT TRACING IN COMBINATION WITH ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE STATE AND LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS
Lake Erie International High School will conduct contact tracing in collaboration with the Cleveland Health Department. All quarantines and positive cases will be documented and sent to the Cleveland Department of Health. Per school policy, parents and guardians will be notified of positive cases within 24 hours.
DIAGNOSTIC AND SCREENING TESTING
Daily temperature checks of students, staff, and visitors will be taken. Students, parents, and staff will be reminded to conduct daily health checks prior to entering the school building.
EFFORTS TO PROVIDE VACCINATIONS
Lake Erie International High School participated in vaccination in conjunction with Cleveland Metropolitan School District for the Moderna vaccine in February and March of 2021. Vaccination clinic information will be provided to students and parents via the school’s website.
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Individual student needs will be addressed in consultation with the Family Advocate.
PLAN TO ADDRESS CONTINUITY OF ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC SERVICES
Individual students who do not respond to Tier 1 (whole group) instruction will be placed through the MTSS process to find appropriate Tier 2 interventions. The RTI process will be documented through the Data Map Program.
The district is also committing to half-day data review sessions during the scheduled professional Development days to allow instructional staff to review student data and to collaborate on curriculum and instructional issues including in‐depth student data analysis, grade level, and department and district initiatives.
The school’s Family Advocate has coordinated services with outside agencies to provide counseling services for students. Staff will have training in the identification and provide supportive services for mental health issues.
Lake Erie International High School has provided free lunch offerings for all students 9‐12 in the 2020‐2021 school year and will continue to do so in the 2021‐2022 school year. Lake Erie International High School has repeatedly updated the P‐EBT documentation to provide additional support to students and families.
PLAN PERIODIC REVIEW
The plan will be reviewed by the district’s building administration team every 6 months.
The plan will be updated based on new or additional guidance from the local health department, Cuyahoga County Public Health Department, Ohio Department of Health, or public input.
The plan will be posted on our district website. The plan will also be shared at the School’s public Board of Directors meeting, to which the meeting link will be provided as well.
To date, the district has released several surveys related to reopening and school services. We also have had community input opportunities through Zoom meetings, events, and website notification.
Public input will take public input into account on whether plan revisions are necessary, and if so, the revisions to the plan.
